What it means
Continuity lines warn you of a break in the continuing part of the roadway, such as an intersection or off ramp. If your lane has a continuity line on one side, that lane will soon turn off from the road you are travelling on.
What you must do
Yield (give way) to any traffic that wants to change lanes. Check your blind spot to make sure no other vehicle might cut in front of you.
Where you see it
On any road.
Remember
A continuity line on one side of your lane: your lane is about to turn off.
The continuity lines will soon change to a channelizing line or a painted island. After that it is illegal to change direction.
