Danger plates: what it means

Sign W401, TW401, W402, TW402

What it means

There is an obstruction (something in the way) or a temporary obstruction next to the road. Or the road alignment (the line the road follows) is altered to the left or right-hand side.

What you must do

Do not pass to the right of a danger plate.

Where you see it

On any road, especially in rural areas.

Remember

Danger plate: never pass to its right.

Delineator plates give the same warning as danger plates. The difference is the side: do not pass to the left of a delineator plate.
