What it means

The road does not continue beyond the sign. You must turn, either to the left or to the right.

What you must do

Decide which direction to go and slow down.

Where you see it

On any road, where the carriageway (roadway) ends.

Remember

Dead-end: the road stops here, so choose left or right.

The temporary sign with the same meaning is called the Road closed chevron.
