Falling rocks: what it means

What it means
Rocks could fall onto the carriageway (roadway). They could come from the left or from the right-hand side.
What you must do
Slow down so that you can stop within your sight distance (the distance you can see) if a rock fall occurs or has occurred.
Where you see it
Especially in mountainous areas.
Remember
Rocks may already be lying in the road. Be able to stop within the distance you can see.
Rock falls occur more often when it rains. In rainy weather, reduce your speed further, since your stopping distance will be longer.
This sign comes in two versions. One warns of rocks falling from the left. The other warns of rocks falling from the right-hand side. Look at the sign in front of you to see which side it is.
