Lane reduction arrows: what it means
Sign WM6.1, WM6.2, WM6.3
What it means
Lane reduction arrows warn that the number of traffic lanes is reduced (there are fewer lanes ahead). WM6.1 warns that the lanes are reduced from the left.
What you must do
Change lanes in time if the lane you are travelling in ends.
Where you see it
On a multi-lane carriageway (a roadway with more than one lane).
Remember
Fewer lanes ahead: if your lane ends, change lanes in time.
There are three lane reduction markings:
- WM6.1: the lanes are reduced from the left
- WM6.3: the lanes are reduced from the right
- WM6.2: the lanes are reduced from both sides
Where two lanes end from both sides, check both blind spots. Make sure no other vehicle is also changing lanes.
