Multi-phase traffic signals

Multi-phase traffic signals: what it means

Sign IN15

What it means

The traffic signals at this intersection do not follow the normal sequence (order). Your signal may stay red while the signal in the opposite direction changes to green.

What you must do

Do not move off when approaching traffic moves off. Wait until your own signal is green.

Where you see it

At intersections, on the same pole as the traffic signals (robot), under the signal head.

Remember

Watch your own light, not the other traffic.

  • At a normal intersection, you expect your signal to change to green after the signal for cross traffic was yellow. At this intersection that may not happen.
  • The sequence of the traffic signals at this intersection can be different during normal times and during peak times.
