What it means
You must bring your vehicle to a stop. The purpose of this sign is to bring traffic to a stop.
What you must do
Bring your vehicle to a standstill at the stop line. If there is no stop line, come to a standstill at the stop sign. Proceed only when it is safe.
Where you see it
At intersections, railway crossings and scholar patrols.
Remember
Stop means standstill: at the line, then go only when it is safe.
At a three or four-way stop, wait for the vehicles that stopped before you. You may not move off before all of them have moved off.
