What it means

A box junction prohibits you from stopping in the marked area.

What you must do

Do not stop in the marked box. Before you enter the intersection, make sure that you will be able to drive through it.

Where you see it

At intersections.

Remember

Do not enter unless you can drive right through.

The reason: a vehicle that stops in the box could prevent other traffic from turning or driving further forward.
