What it means
An intersection is ahead where you have to yield (give way) to cross-traffic. The thicker leg of the cross shows which road has priority, and at this sign that is the road that crosses yours.
What you must do
Approach cautiously (slowly and carefully). Yield to traffic approaching from the left or right.

On any road.
Remember
Secondary means the other road goes first. You yield.
