Stopping prohibited: what it means

What it means

This sign prohibits stopping. It keeps traffic flowing and keeps stationary (standing still) vehicles from blocking drivers' views.

What you must do

Do not stop your vehicle where this sign is displayed. The sign names three cases where you may still stop: to obey a traffic light, to obey a traffic officer, or to avoid a collision.

Where you see it

On any public road.

Remember

Parking prohibited: do not park. Stopping prohibited: do not even stop.

The sign may be used together with a red "no stopping line".
